Visit at Katt and Fredda's

Press Commentaries

What an idyll. Katt and Fredda live a fulfilling Pas de deux to Vivaldi's flute concert in a cosy atmosphere. "Always the two of us", is the incantation. But as soon as Miranda enters the room, Fredda is ensnared by complements as a fly in a spiders web. And Katt doesn't get a look in to begin with. In excessive increase Daniela Mohr, Renate Obermaier and Kirsten Trustaedt from the Theater im Marienbad show on the example of a triangular conflict that there isn't a stand still in life. That trying to maintain possession - especially according to people - means paralysis. And so the delighted audience in the end can take the message that changes are not only exciting but necessary. Doesn't matter if in privacy or society. Easy and wonderfully clownesque Daniela Mohr and Renate Obermaier play the duo Katt and Fredda as symbol figures in a mixture of a stubborn child and narrow minded spinster. Miranda (Kirsten Trustaedt) in opposition is a tempting, dominant creature. No wonder, when her blandishments trigger nearly orgiastic feelings in Fredda. But her claim: "The visitor is the king and can do what he wants", is answered with a single minded "No!" from a bright child. So Miranda leaves but the echo of her appearance stays behind. - A symbol for change.
