The 10 year old Oskar suffers from leukaemia. He knows he has only a few days to live. An elderly nurse, the „Lady in Pink“, advises him to write about his thoughts, his feelings and fears – in letters to God. Without sentimentality and free of fright Oscars letters tell of love, pain, happiness and loss.
The well known Iranian dramatist Mohammad Charmshir took the essence of these letters and wrote a dense and dramatic dialogue between the young child and an “Angel”. The poetics of the Persian language combined with the perspective of the protagonist are the underlying elements of Mohammad Aghebati’s production.
