Ashura originates from the rich cultural and historical heritage of Anatolia, where all three religions collide, and many ancient traditions still survive. Ashura explores the relationship between lingual tradition and contemporary art through disciplines such as choreography, dramaturgy and music. Lingual tradition gains further immediacy through the personal histories of the participating performers.
